Exploration #69. Victoria Barracks was a military facility situated in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. From 1956 until 1970, the site was used by the Canadian Forces. The infrastructure was vast: two churches, a theatre, a bowling alley, garages, hangars, and accommodation for over 16,000 troops. From 1970 until 1994, the end of the Cold War, the soldiers of the British Army of the Rhine were stationed here. Since 1994, the base is abandoned and slowly taken back by nature. Unfortunately we could stop only for a short time, but the place was worth to be explored longer.
