ACQUEDOTTO RENANO [IT]
Exploration #150. Construction of the Renano Aqueduct began in the 1930s and continued for twenty years until the second half of the 1950s. It supplied 13 municipalities in the lower Bolognese plain with drinking water and was a great work for the time: it guaranteed drinking water for an area of over 55 thousand hectares and served a population of 79 thousand inhabitants in mostly rural areas.
However, it did not have a long life. It was in fact decommissioned due to changes in the water supply system and gradually dismantled: today only the power station, a rationalist-style building with the original mechanical equipment inside, remains standing.
